Dr. Bonnie Abbott cares for small family animals. Her special interests include cancer care, surgery, senior pet care, preventive care, and grief care for the family. Dr. Abbott has been honored in 5280 Magazine as one of Seven Top Veterinarians in the Denver area. A native of Colorado, Dr. Abbott received her veterinary degree from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She completed an intensive Internship at Michigan State University Veterinary Medical Center. She’s been practicing for 19 years.
Dr. Carisa RindalVeterinarian
Dr. Carisa Rindal has returned to Colorado with her husband and two young children after a seven year departure to practice as a relief veterinarian in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Rindal has extensive experience in general practice and emergency medicine. Her special interests include internal medicine, surgery, neurology, grief counseling and improving the quality of life in our older companion animals. Dr. Rindal attended Iowa State University, the oldest Veterinary institution in the United States, and graduated in 2005. After graduating she completed a small animal emergency and specialty internship in Northbrook, Illinois with training in neurology, cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, radiology and emergency medicine.
Dr. Stacey HuberVeterinarian
Dr. Stacey as she likes to be called, started her veterinary career as a medical and surgical veterinary nurse in Naples, FL in 1993. Five years later she enrolled into the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with honors in 2002. After graduation from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Stacey returned to Naples where she employed her veterinary skills for 6 years until the opening of her own veterinary hospital, Animal Oasis Veterinary Hospital in January 2009. Dr. Stacey enjoys running and training/competing for triathlons, traveling, hanging out with friends and spending time with her dogs and cat; Tilly (Boston Terrier) and Tinker Bell (Boston Frenchie), Mia (Golden Retriever), Macey (Yellow Lab) and Oscar (Orange Tabby).
Brandi Jackson Head Tech, Certified Veterinary Technician
Brandi has lived in Boulder County most her life. She, her husband, and two children share their home with two dogs (Shasta and Charlie), two cats (Christina and Magnolia), Natasha the Tortoise, and some fish. Brandi attended CU Boulder and graduated Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 1999. She has been working as a veterinary technician since 1998. She’s excited to join Dr. Abbott at Vista Animal Hospital and hopes to grow her skills in friendly cat handling and Fear Free techniques to better the lives of all patients and their families.Brandi loves working with animals and children. She volunteers at her children’s school weekly and enjoys caring for special needs pets in their homes. Her hobbies include waterskiing, yoga and traveling.
Heidi SprangCertified Veterinary Technician
Heidi has always had a love for and compassion towards animals. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in zoology at Miami University in Ohio, where she grew up. After working briefly as a zookeeper she found that she enjoyed assisting with medical procedures so much that she went back to school to become a veterinary technician. She moved to Colorado and graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2009. Heidi lives with her two cats, Ethel and Norman. She enjoys going to the movies, hiking, game nights, karaoke, sketching, reading, and cooking vegan food. Some of her most memorable experiences were working with big cats at a sanctuary in Texas, caring for endangered Hawaiian birds at the Maui Bird Conservation Center, and skydiving over the beach in Santa Cruz, CA.
Christine BelterVeterinary Assistant
Christine relocated to Colorado from Southern California with her husband in 2019. Originally, she was pursuing a career in court reporting, but she quickly realized that working with animals was where her heart and passion are. Christine has a deep love for animals and is excited to be working towards her technician certification. She values forming lasting bonds with pets and their parents. In her time off, she enjoys spending time in the Colorado outdoors running, hiking and camping. She shares her home with her dog Tifani and her cat Dexter.
Alice ForschmiedtOffice Manager
Alice grew up surrounded by animals and with a passion to help people and their pets. Her first job was working on a farm that raised Tennessee Walking Horses in the mountains of Colorado. After attending college in Fort Collins, Alice returned to her home town of Buena Vista where she worked at the humane society for several years. In 2011, she moved to Boulder County, and began a career in the veterinary field in 2013. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Abbott and be a part of the team at Vista Animal Hospital. Alice lives in Lafayette with her husband Andrew and a menagerie of rescue animals.
Kaitlyn SharpVeterinary Assistant
Originally from Wyoming, Kaitlyn and her family now call Erie home. Even from an early age, Kaitlyn knew she wanted to work with animals. When not helping to care for Vista’s patients, she’s busy working on her veterinary technician degree at Front Range Community College. Kaitlyn has two rambunctious guinea pigs named Winnie and Hazel. In her free time, she enjoys running, camping and CrossFit.
